Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s ODM party won 3 seats in yesterday’s by-elections while President Mwai Kibaki’s PNU won 2 seats. The ODM party now has 103 seats total while PNU has 104 seats.
Security was tight at the polling stations and the elections were largely peaceful with relatively fewer incidents of skirmishes reported. ODM Secretary General Anyang’ Nyong’o has praised the Electoral Commission of Kenya for its handling of the by elections.
